We in Barrhead Bourock Parish Church warmly welcome you to our website.

We aim to be a church which puts its faith into action by demonstrating God’s love to the world, declaring the good news of Jesus Christ, and supporting individuals and groups within the church and parish communities.  We encourage participation by all ages - in worship, outreach and social events. If you are new to our community please browse all the areas of our website and contact us if we can be of any help. Church Opening after Covid-19 Pandemic The Kirk Session held a “Zoom” meeting on Wednesday 25th June 2020 and regrettably concluded that Bourock Church would not consider opening until stage 4 of the Scottish Government COVID-19 Routemap is reached. Session also noted the deliverance from the Presbytery of Greenock and Paisley:- “instructs Kirk Sessions, when they want to reopen their church, to submit a completed Checklist, Covid-19 Risk Assessment and Extract minute confirming the desire to reopen the church building(s), to the Presbytery Clerk in advance of reopening.” This instruction will be strictly adhered to and all the required Health and Safety checks and paperwork will be completed and submitted prior to opening. Sanctuary Preparations are already underway and Session has taken steps to measure the projected capacity of the sanctuary under the current  and suspected future regulations. Church Halls The Kirk Session will follow the Church of Scotland guidance:- “Congregations should not confirm return dates with external groups at the present time. When external groups may be able to return to church buildings will be informed by further guidance from the Scottish Government. More information will be provided in future updates of this guidance document and the Law Department’s Hall Lettings circular will at the same time be updated to reflect the current situation.” General As soon as a timetable for the opening of Bourock Church is available, it will be available here on the web site and posted on Facebook. We trust that you understand that these procedures will keep everyone safe but we will open as soon as we can safely do so. The weeks ahead will continue to be a challenge for us all but although the church buildings are closed, please be assured that the church is still very active.
