We in Barrhead Bourock Parish Church warmly welcome you to our website.

We aim to be a church which puts its faith into action by demonstrating God’s love to the world, declaring the good news of Jesus Christ, and supporting individuals and groups within the church and parish communities.  We encourage participation by all ages - in worship, outreach and social events. If you are new to our community please browse all the areas of our website and contact us if we can be of any help. Church Opening after Covid-19 Pandemic The Kirk Session held a “Zoom” meeting on Tuesday 28th July 2020 and regrettably concluded that Bourock Church could still not consider opening. In order to open the church buildings, strict guidelines must be followed and  a risk assessment completed and signed off by the Presbytery of Greenock & Paisley. Some of these guidelines include having to wait for 72 hours before any cleaning of the church can take place and the requirement to track and trace. All of the requirements will be undertaken to ensure total safety for members of our congregation and visitors to the church. Sanctuary Preparations are ongoing and the seating arrangements adopting the current 2-metre rule are being tested. This would mean greatly reduced numbers due to the available space for worship. No singing would be allowed and face coverings would be required to be worn at all times. It would be a very different form of worship. Church Halls The Kirk Session will continue to follow the Church of Scotland guidance:- “Congregations should not confirm return dates with external groups at the present time. When external groups may be able to return to church buildings will be informed by further guidance from the Scottish Government. More information will be provided in future updates of this guidance document and the Law Department’s Hall Lettings circular will at the same time be updated to reflect the current situation.” General As soon as a timetable for the opening of Bourock Church is available, it will be available here on the web site and posted on Facebook. We trust that you understand that these procedures will keep everyone safe but we will open as soon as we can safely do so. The weeks ahead will continue to be a challenge for us all but although the church buildings are closed, please be assured that the church is still very active. On-Line Worship From Sunday 9th August we will be streaming live services on our YouTube channel. Please follow the link to the “Lockdown Services” page for more information.
